At Spires, our ethos is Happy Physios Equals Happy Patients. Therefore, we put a lot of time and effort into creating a working environment which enables our fantastic team of physiotherapists to thrive in their clinical practice. This means focussing on things like diary structure, appointment duration times, professional development opportunities and the physical environment of the clinics. We’re also aware that physiotherapists work mostly alone, one-on-one with patients in their clinic rooms without much contact with the rest of the team. So we make sure every one of our physios has protected time to talk to another team member every week and we get together for group training every six weeks.
Sometimes though, you just need to get out of the clinic and have some fun together. So we recently took the day off, met up in Oxford as a team to have some drinks, some lunch and have a go at an escape room. Now, I for one was pretty nervous about our ability to work together as a team, given that we rarely do this. But I was cognisant of the fact that physiotherapists are excellent problem solvers, so I was quietly confident we could solve the puzzles together and escape the room within the 60 minute time limit. As it was, we smashed it and completed the escape room challenge in 45 minutes.
It was great to spend some time together as a team and to let off some steam. We now feel recharged and ready to continue providing the best possible care to our patients. If you want to read more about our impressive team, you can do so here: https://spiresphysiotherapy.com/meet-the-team/
